Annika Hagen has pursued writing in various forms since she was 8 yrs old. At 33, she has compiled an array of completed works from published poetry & prose, to stage plays, cartoon animation scripts, shorts and feature screenplays. Her determination to write for the screen was fueled in 1999 when her first feature-length script, 'Pink Paradise' was showcased at Pseudo Program’s Blackrabbit Workshop in NYC. Before returning to Vancouver in 2000, she wrote her second feature, 'Smashlight'. Annika then attended the Vancouver Film School where her short script 'Jada, Green & Red' was chosen for production. In school she made 2 short experimental films and wrote a 20min film entitled Fork that she would like to one day direct. After co-writing a feature comedy,'Dirt'; completing her third feature script, 'The Great Seizure', and completing a rewrite of 'Pink Paradise', Annika delved into the world of animation; co-writing three ½ hour cartoon scripts for the kid’s animated series "Being Ian" for YTV and carried her own ½ hour episode 'See You at the Crossroads' for Teletoon’s teen animated series "Class of the Titans". Back to feature script writing, Annika is in draft stages of a romantic comedy and in treatment stages of a dramatic horror. Over the years Annika has done many other random and interesting things for work; serving in many a restaurant, delivering pizzas, she was an editorial intern at Grove publishers in NY, a poetry associate producer for Pseudo Programs when it was the first live-broadcast television network streaming on the internet, (see the film "We Live in Public"...), and a Producer’s assistant at Infinity Features. She also worked in a wood-shop building deck chairs with these lovely ladies... Gallant and Jones. Currently she works as a Script Supervisor for film and television in Vancouver, and aspires to moonlight as a photographer.
